Dear Sisters - and Brothers [Oh, come on guys, we know you want in on these secrets! ;)] ...just a quick note to get us started on SWB - "Secret Women's Business"...
For those of you who don't know, I'm 46 years of age - 47 come the end of March -- please forward all Birthday presents to my postal address... ;) -- and, though it may come as a shock to some, I've been a woman all my life. Seriously; true story... Mind you, when I married Tim (almost 20 years ago now) I did have to give up my manhood. I had been a single mum for about 8 years (give or take a few brief relationships here and there) and had played the role of mum and dad for my first born. On marrying, I had to learn to hand some of that 'masculinity' over to Tim. It wasn't easy letting go of control, but that's another story for another time...
Anyway, being a woman who can find little evidence of ever being a pert teenager, I've learned a few things over the years about being a female and the value this world places on "her", or takes from her, and I'd like to share that with whoever would like to share it with me, for I know I'm not the only female to walk this earth highly aware of her faults and shortcomings and inadequacies, and so on and so forth and etc, that are often highlighted by the media in order to sell their products. But don't get me started on that subject just now!!! ;P
I've been (and, in some cases still am) a daughter, a friend, a lover, a one-night stand, a wife, a mum, found lacking in the eye of a cosmetic worshipping world, the child of a broken home, a step-mum, the third wife, a single mum, and, along with being somewhat menopausal, I've experienced every emotion from anxiety through to being zonked out of my head with boredom, and often lost somewhere among all of them.
I'm no expert on life. Nor am I a graduate of any university or any such thing. I am just a simple girl in a somewhat complicated world, seeking freedom of this, and healing for that, and answers to the whats, wheres, whens and whys of life, and simply putting heart to paper to share what I've found along the way, hoping, with all that I am, that I will be able to connect to someone somewhere and encourage them to keep going, to keep getting up of a morning, and to step into a life that is theirs. And I sure hope you will travel some of this path with me.
Please feel free to add thought as we go. Because of the stats on my private page, I am aware that many come to this site each day, though I rarely have anyone connect with me. If you would like to comment or connect, you can leave a comment - your email address is not known to others - or you can privately message me on [email protected] ~ I would love to hear from you.
Anyway... let's get started... But what should we talk about first...?
